Distilled in 2015, this whisky spent its first four years maturing in American Oak from either Heaven Hill or Buffalo Trace, two of Kentucky's most celebrated distilleries, before being transferred into a Ruby Port Hogshead for a further six years of secondary maturation.

Billy Walker, Glenallachie master distiller doesn’t call this finishing he describes this as “secondary maturation” as the whisky has spent longer in the second cask than it would be actually be called Whisky.

The result is a whisky of remarkable depth, complexity and character.

Nose: Waves of black grapes, raisins and dark chocolate orange, with hints of coffee, stewed fruits and treacle syrup.
Palate: Lashings of heather honey, cocoa dusted truffles and sultanas, followed by bursts of espresso coffee, mixed currants and brandy butter.
Finish: Elements of the palate continue onto this Glenallachie finish, with gingersnaps.
